Acceptance is something we often times look for outside of ourselves, but it can only be found from within.

Self-acceptance is the key to feeling safe in your body and mind in any given place or circumstance. Think of a home within yourself. Self-acceptance acts as the refuge when rejection, abandonment, or personal failures arise. I would argue God is also a refuge in which we can find safety when things get tough.
So how do we cultivate this home within where we can offer ourselves self-acceptance, love, understanding, and forgiveness?
Sweetheart, it starts when you allow yourself to have compassion, forgiveness, and understanding for every past version of you who was trying their best. Give yourself mercy and learn to forgive yourself.
Sometimes, this process may take time, so be patient with yourself.
When you are able to accept that you are fully forgiven by God and you forgive yourself, only then will you be free from shame, guilt, and resentment of the past. Only then will you be able to accept all the beautiful and not-so-pretty parts.
Allow the life lessons to be your teachers, and allow yourself to receive an abundant life.
